Size guide

Every product page lists its measurements exactly as they are. This page explains where to measure your dog so those numbers mean something.

Collars

Measure around the base of the neck, where the collar naturally sits. Slide two fingers under the tape as you measure. That gap is what stops a collar being too tight.

Match that number to the range on the product page. If you are between sizes, go up.

Harnesses, coats and life jackets

You need three numbers.

• Neck. Around the base of the neck, as above.
• Chest. Around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
• Back length. From the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Chest is the one that matters most on coats. If chest and back length point to different sizes, follow the chest.

Beds

Measure your dog lying down and stretched out, from nose to base of tail. Then add 15 to 25cm.

Dogs that curl into a ball can go smaller. Dogs that sleep flat out on their side need the extra room, and older dogs need more again because they change position more during the night.

Bolstered beds are measured on the outside, so the actual sleeping area is smaller than the listed size. Allow for that.

A note on tolerances

Soft goods are measured by hand, so allow 1 to 3cm either way. If a difference of a few centimetres would make the item unusable, contact us before you order and we will check the specific piece.
