Care instructions

Most of what we sell is designed to be cleaned at home. Here is how to do it without wrecking anything.

Beds and bed covers

• Take the cover off before washing. Do not put a foam base through the machine.
• Warm machine wash, 40 degrees. Do not bleach.
• Cool tumble dry or line dry in the shade. Direct sun fades fabric and weakens stitching.
• Do not iron and do not dry clean.
• Spot clean the foam base with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Let it dry completely before putting the cover back on, or it will smell.

A spare cover means the bed is never out of action while one is drying. That is the whole reason we sell them.

Blankets

Warm machine wash and cool tumble dry. Wash separately the first time, as loose fibres will find their way onto everything else.

Collars, leads and harnesses

Hand wash in warm water with a mild detergent, then air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash anything with metal hardware, as the hardware will damage your machine and the machine will damage the hardware.

Check the stitching and the clip every few months. Webbing that has gone fuzzy at a stress point is telling you something.

Coats and life jackets

Rinse with fresh water after salt water or a muddy walk, then hang to dry. Salt is what destroys buckles and zips, not water.

Toys

Rubber toys can be washed in warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly. Rope and fabric toys can go through a gentle machine wash in a laundry bag.

Replace any toy once it starts coming apart. A dog swallowing a piece of a toy is a vet visit, not a saving.

Feeding mats and trays

Wipe down daily. Mats can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and should be line dried. Do not tumble dry a rubber backed mat.
